Since 1985, Central Biomedia, Inc. (CBI) has been producing and marketing bulk donor horse serum in Irwin, Missouri. In 1992, we added an additional facility in Lenexa, Kansas, focusing on the production of private label, contract manufactured animal serum for the biotech industry. Our Lenexa facility is registered with the FDA as a contract manufacturer of in-vitro diagnostics (Class 1 Medical Devices), as well as a USDA-licensed veterinary biologics manufacturing site and an approved USDA quarantine holding facility for imported ruminant serum. Both our locations are USDA EU142/2011 approved to export blood products to the EU, and as a founding member of the International Serum Industry Association (ISIA), we’re proud to be ISIA Traceability Certified since 2012.

Our facilities allow us to provide a wide range of services for our customers. In addition to sterile filtration, aseptic filling, and labeling of animal sera, we can also provide heat inactivation, dialysis, stripping, and supplementation services, as well as custom processes tailored to the needs of our clients. We consider ourselves to be an extension of each of our customers, and provide our services accordingly.
